Under 18's
At Shannon Grace Sports Massage, the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every young person are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all clients under the age of 18.
Before any treatment can take place, a parent or legal guardian must:
Complete and sign the client's Medical History Form.
Complete and sign the Client Consent Form.
Provide accurate and up-to-date medical information and notify the therapist of any changes to the young person's health or medication.
Treatment cannot be provided until these forms have been completed and signed.
A parent or legal guardian must remain present throughout the entire appointment for all clients under the age of 18. This applies to consultations, assessments, treatment, and post-treatment discussions.
Sports Massage Therapy is always voluntary.
Even where a parent or legal guardian has provided consent, the young person's own wishes will always be respected. If they indicate that they do not wish to receive treatment, appear distressed, uncomfortable, or ask for the treatment to stop at any stage, the appointment will end immediately.
Shannon Grace Sports Massage will never pressure, persuade, or encourage a young person to undergo treatment against their wishes, and a parent or guardian cannot override a young person's refusal to receive treatment.
Shannon Grace Sports Massage has a professional duty to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people. Any concerns regarding a young person's safety or wellbeing will be managed in accordance with safeguarding responsibilities and, where appropriate, information may be shared with the relevant authorities in line with legal and professional obligations.
Our priority is to ensure that every young person feels safe, respected, listened to, and comfortable throughout their appointment.
Client Consent
Informed Consent
Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a Medical History Form and a Client Treatment Consent Form. These documents help ensure that treatment is appropriate, safe, and tailored to your individual needs.
Before each treatment, your therapist will discuss:
-
Your current symptoms and treatment goals.
-
Any changes to your medical history, medications, or health since your last appointment.
-
The treatment techniques that may be used.
-
Any potential benefits, risks, or expected outcomes.
-
Any questions or concerns you may have.
Treatment will only begin once you have given your informed consent.
At Shannon Grace Sports Massage, informed consent is a fundamental part of providing safe, effective, and professional treatment. We are committed to ensuring that every client understands the nature of the treatment they will receive and is given the opportunity to make an informed decision before treatment begins.

Ongoing Consent
Consent is an ongoing process and not a one-off event. Your consent will be confirmed throughout your appointment, particularly before treating sensitive areas or introducing different techniques.
You have the right to:
-
Ask questions at any time.
-
Decline any treatment technique.
-
Request that a particular area is not treated.
-
Pause or stop your treatment at any time without providing a reason.
Your decision will always be respected.
Changes To Your Health
It is your responsibility to inform Shannon Grace Sports Massage of any changes to your health, medical conditions, medications, pregnancy status, recent injuries, or other relevant circumstances before each appointment. This information helps ensure that your treatment remains safe and appropriate.
Withdrawal Of Consent
You may withdraw your consent at any point before or during your treatment. If consent is withdrawn, treatment will stop immediately. Withdrawing consent will not affect your future access to treatment, although the appointment may still be subject to our Cancellation Policy where applicable.
Consent for Mobile Treatment
By booking a mobile appointment, you consent to Shannon Grace Sports Massage attending your home or another agreed treatment location solely for the purpose of providing the booked treatment. You also confirm that the treatment environment will be clean, private, and safe for both you and your therapist. If the environment is considered unsuitable or unsafe, treatment may be postponed or cancelled.
Professional Standards
All treatments are delivered in accordance with professional standards, respecting your privacy, dignity, comfort, and personal boundaries at all times. Your wellbeing will always take priority, and no treatment will be performed without your voluntary consent.
